A multi-stage prior-informed RAPM: a role-and-age prior, then a gradient-boosted box-score prior, then a ridge on the on-court result, chosen by out-of-season prediction of held-out games. One rating per player per season, from that season's games. Nothing that is fitted has seen a season still being played. Source, method and every measurement: github.com/bbstats/openrapm.
